BHN, the Burba Hotel Network, and Jim Burba, its President and CEO, a very well known and respected figure of the Hospitality Industry is actively working with Pro Nicaragua, the Investment Promotion Agency to launch the second Investment Forum for Central America. The first version was held in Guatemala last year and after Nicaragua the Summit will continue travelling throughout the rest of the Central American countries in their quest to attract investors and developers for the Hospitality (Hotel ) Industry.
BHN announced that “CATHIE will focus on hotel and tourism investment opportunities in the seven Central American countries. An important feature of CATHIE is the active involvement of the national investment promotion agencies in the region, and the showcasing of new and exciting investment opportunities from each of the participating countries. A full conference program will run alongside an active networking/exhibit hall and one-to-one meetings with the promoters of new projects and the CATHIE delegates”.
Jim Burba also informed that “The Foreign Investment Advisory Service (FIAS) of The World Bank Group is supporting the CATHIE” this year and continues to recommend that executives involved in the following areas should attend: “Hotel and Vacation Ownership Developers, Investors and Investment Funds, Lenders, Hotel and Resort Owners, Hotel Company Executives, Government and Tourism Officials, Financial Advisors, Investment Bankers, Architects/Designers, Lawyers, Consultants, Real Estate and Financial Intermediaries and Media”.
At the moment of this publication, CATHIE has registered people interested in participating mostly from the US market, but investors from Russia and other European countries have also informed of their interest in participating as well as the key players from Central America.
This year’s program will include discussions about the actual and future Economic Outlook, the Equity and Debt Financing markets for Central America, the official development strategies of the participating countries and other interesting subjects presented by well know speakers from institutions like Ernst & Young LLP, the World Travel & Tourism Council, the International Finance Corporation, the Hilton Hotels Corporation, IHG, Earl Swensson Associates, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Hotel Group, the Inter-American Development Bank and Calvet & Associates.
